Kurtis Thompson, ASA, MAAA
Consulting Actuary
Kurtis has been a consultant on the Odyssey Advisors team since 2013 and has developed extensive knowledge and expertise in developing and administering retirement benefit solutions. Kurtis is passionate about helping people achieve the retirement they’ve always dreamed of with customized solutions and advice.
Kurtis has been heavily involved in designing and implementing solutions for the changing needs of municipalities under GASB 74 and 75. He enjoys making complex OPEB reporting understandable so that municipal clients can manage their OPEB plans effectively.
Before joining Odyssey, Kurtis worked for Prudential financial in the annuity and retirement income department. At Prudential, Kurtis gained an understanding of the retirement industry.
When he’s not in the office, Kurtis is often helping the community through activity at his church and volunteering with several community outreach organizations.
Kurtis has a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Bryant University and is a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries and an Associate in the Society of Actuaries.

Kurtis is an avid outdoorsman; from hiking and camping to canoeing and fishing, he can often be found outdoors enjoying nature. He also enjoys getting out and playing sports, especially basketball.
